The story lines seemed to Contradict itself, saids one thing, then the complete opposite. Putting all that aside, relatively good information.

Lately, I have gotten a whole of his books,the one his daughter Yamma wrote, this one,as well as the two that Mr Brown wrote himself, and they all have a similar vein about the man. And big kudos to him for doing it. I would love to read one about his mother, who sang with him in the early 60s.

Godfather of Soul, a complex soul By Devona Renee I appreciated additional insight, both the flattering & unflattering, into the complex man who was James Brown. Each person within this book gave their own flavor & perspective, which created a broader picture of the man who influenced so many. As so many of us do, he got some things right...& others not.
