This book is the result of a "challenge" to the author by a friend to prove how "TOP" is an improvement over Basic Strategy. To meet the challenge, 4000 blackjack hands were played in casinos using "TOP" Strategy; and were recorded as if the hands had also been played following BASIC Strategy. Thus, the results in the book are an accurate Strategy comparison for the same hands. The 4000 results have been included in the form of Worksheets. For Blackjack players already using BASIC Strategy, they will most likely easily learn "TOP" in minutes. However, this book is written for the novice Blackjack Player as well. About the Author Author lives on the West Coast of the U.S.A. For over 40 years he has been playing Blackjack and constantly experimented with different decision and betting strategies. However, he now only uses the "TOP" Strategy since developing it over 30 years ago. It was at the urging of friends who also use the "TOP" strategy to write this book. He has also written 2 books on Stock Option Investing for the beginner or small investor; and one fiction novel. He currently is working on another novel.

By-the-way, when someone advocates one of those, RUN in the other direction.Instead, this author claims to offer a variation of basic strategy that actually offers a positive return. Unfortunately, it doesn't work.Here is the problem. The author "tested" his strategy using 4000 hands of BJ. Sounds like a lot? It's not. Nothing even close.To test the strategy, I set it up on blackjack simulator obtained from a well-respected source. I tested my traditiional basic strategy against TOP. Except I used 6 BILLION hands, not 4000. And guess what? The return per hour was worse (by about $1 per 100 hands) than traditional basic.With Top you don't lose a lot of money. But you WILL lose. Oh sure, there will be short-term positive fluctuations. I am guessing that is what the author enjoyed with his 4000 hands. But, the longer you play, the MORE you will lose.Get yourself a basic strategy card from a legitimate source. Even that has a slightly negative expectation. But you cannot be a long-term winner unless you count the cards. TOP just doesn't do it. Sorry.
