About the Author Shawn S. Lealos graduated from the Gaylord School of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis on professional writing. He has worked as a film critic for the last seven years and a journalist for the past 20. He created his Stephen King Dollar Baby, I Know What You Need, while a student at Oklahoma and has now met well over 20 other Dollar Baby filmmakers. He has also hosted two Dollar Baby film festivals, one at Comicpalooza in Houston, Texas and the second at Galacticon in Seattle, Washington. He currently lives with his beautiful wife Johanna and rambunctious son Ashley in Norman, Oklahoma. Shawn is starting work on his first fiction novel as a follow-up to Dollar Deal. By Director Quality look, and a quality book. Journalist Shawn S. Lealos interviews multiple directors of the somewhat elusive Dollar Baby deals, authorized by Stephen King himself, thus indirectly, they become an extension of his great lineage to modern literature. I have always considered King as the Shakespeare of our times and this book is a great addition to an admirer of his works and how young-directors find their own voices and visions with his spark.

And I'll bet I know at least one dark corner you know very little about -- the Dollar Baby.I'm really enjoying Shawn S. Lealos' book, Dollar Deal: The Stephen King Dollar Baby Filmmakers. This is a project I've been following for some time, so the finished product is a real treat for me. I interviewed Shawn a couple years ago, and I'm really happy to say that the finished book is a slam dunk. I love it!

If you've ever imagined how these stories would unfold as short films then consider this book-- the perfect primer for Stephen King's Dollar Babies. These are the few films Stephen King has authorized to be adapted from his short stories and they are a singular bunch. Perfect for horror film fans too!
