By Rob Natiuk I couldn't pass up a book that referred to grandma's bunions, haunted too. Big too -- the size of huge softballs. "At night they grew gross little black eyes and little slithery mouths. Red straggly hair grew near the top of the bunions to give them the look of two little evil redheads." And from here, it really gets outlandish and hideous! Grandma's bunions especially liked to eat raw steak.Those bunions were due to a very plausible explanation -- a Gypsy curse from way back when. And the narrator as a 15-yer-old boy starts to notice the horror--the appearance of similar bunions on his feet. He contacts a gypsy fortune-teller for help. She agrees to make a potion and feed it to grandma's bunions. Easy? At first -- and then the complications, twists, and horrors begin. Oooh -- I love this story. And the ending -- I expected some most horrible event, but it was neatly tied up. And everybody, including the two bunions, lived happily ever after!
