19 of 19 people found the following review helpful. A rare find! By reader1 This was a surprising find in the free books section, and one I'm really grateful now that I know of this author. The book was fun, suspenseful, cute, and interesting. I really enjoyed the book and the powerful themes of redemption and hope throughout it. For the most part I thought the book was clear of many cliches and the romance was sweet and clean. Kat resonated well with me in her quest for answers and struggle to find her own identity. There were a few grey areas I was a little lost in, but for the most part the action was exciting and the mystery smooth. I was never tempted to put the book down. It was fun learning about Russia and its culture outside of any sort of movie or cold war study--this book really piqued my interest to learn further about Russia.I've enjoyed every book by this author so far, and would most definitely recommend this book to everyone. It was sophisticated and thoughtful without every getting droll or weighted down. The series has neat concept of progressing back in time, rather than forward, and I can't wait to read about the rest of Kat's family she searched to know!
14 of 15 people found the following review helpful. confusing suspense By j.r. I had a hard time keeping all the Russian agents separated and know who was who and who was working for which agency. They all seemed pretty much alike (no character development) except Vadeem. The original quest to find information about her relatives gets lost amid the suspense of the crest and the spies.I thought the writing was a bit lazy.
8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. A Series Written Backwards in Time By Kindle Customer It's been awhile since I read this book, and the series, but I really liked it. The story goes backwards in time from book to book. After I finished the story I almost wished I had read it backwards, because the end of the first story kind of gives away the ending of the second book and so on. Not sure that it would have worked, but I would have liked to have a little more suspense about what happens to the main character in the story. Overall this is a really good read, and the series well worth your time.
