There are still unanswered questions about Lisa's duplicitous character with Jake and Winston! Does Jake really end up with a two-timer like Lisa? Will Dee have a real relationship with Grayson, or will she continue to pine after Winston, who is still pining after Lisa? This abrupt ending made this whole series a waste of time. It's too bad that Jake and Dee loved such awful people. There was no HEA for anybody!

Torn By Ms. Waldron I have enjoyed this series based on the police investigation and murderers however I have really grown tired of the games that the character of Lisa continues to play with her boyfriend and her coworker. As an adult reading this book it's just become like reading the store of an adolescent. Would like to see a great ending to this story including Lisa growing up and taking responsibility for her behavior and to stop using her past as an excuse for behavior. Still love Dee.

The series started out with a wonderful couple who were dealing with emotional issues from their past. Lisa and Jake's dynamic relationship helped them to heal each other's wounds. I have never despised a character as Lisa. She played two men who one, was infatuated (Winston) and the other (Jake) loved her. She knew her partner Dee had feelings for Winston but that knowledge made her manipulate Winston's feelings even more.What kind of police department would continuously employ her!!! She brought all kinds of drama to that department.I wish Ms.Deanne would have written a conclusion on Jake and Lisa's relationship. I get she was caught up between her indecisiveness in which man she wanted. But how could you turn a good, honest character as Lisa began in the first book into an egotistical tramp!

About the Author Charles M. Schulz was born November 25, 1922, in Minneapolis. His destiny was foreshadowed when an uncle gave him, at the age of two days, the nickname Sparky (after the racehorse Spark Plug in the newspaper strip Barney Google).In his senior year in high school, his mother noticed an ad in a local newspaper for a correspondence school, Federal Schools (later called Art Instruction Schools). Schulz passed the talent test, completed the course, and began trying, unsuccessfully, to sell gag cartoons to magazines. (His first published drawing was of his dog, Spike, and appeared in a 1937 Ripley's Believe It or Not! installment.) Between 1948 and 1950, he succeeded in selling 17 cartoons to the Saturday Evening Post―as well as, to the local St. Paul Pioneer Press, a weekly comic feature called Li'l Folks. It was run in the women's section and paid $10 a week. After writing and drawing the feature for two years, Schulz asked for a better location in the paper or for daily exposure, as well as a raise. When he was turned down on all three counts, he quit.He started submitting strips to the newspaper syndicates. In the spring of 1950, he received a letter from the United Feature Syndicate, announcing their interest in his submission, Li'l Folks. Schulz boarded a train in June for New York City; more interested in doing a strip than a panel, he also brought along the first installments of what would become Peanuts―and that was what sold. (The title, which Schulz loathed to his dying day, was imposed by the syndicate.) The first Peanuts daily appeared October 2, 1950; the first Sunday, January 6, 1952.Diagnosed with cancer, Schulz retired from Peanuts at the end of 1999. He died on February 13, 2000, the day before Valentine's Day―and the day before his last strip was published―having completed 17,897 daily and Sunday strips, each and every one fully written, drawn, and lettered entirely by his own hand―an unmatched achievement in comics.RiffTrax is the successful comedy trio of Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy, and Michael J. I have enjoyed Charles Schulz's Peanuts cartoons from their beginning, back in the 1950s. While that's the umbrella reason for my liking them, there are more specific reasons. Some trigger spontaneous, out-loud laughter. Some call to mind actual, pleasant-to-remember childhood incidents. Some amount to moments of philosophical realization and wisdom. But all in all, I find them to be rich in a kind of wholesome humor, and conveniently offered in bite-size portions. They're just fun to read. For those reasons, I recommend them highly.

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl is a memoir of Frankl's imprisonment in concentration camps during World War II and a brief description of the principles of logotherapy, a school of psychotherapy that he founded.

Frankl and his family were imprisoned in concentration camps during the war. Frankl was held in several camps before he was liberated from the last in 1945. During his time in the camps, Frankl witnessed the extreme cruelty of camp guards and the prisoners who were given special status by them, also known as Capos. He also witnessed the cruelty of the prisoners to each other as they underwent the three stages of reaction to their imprisonment. These stages are denial, acceptance, and adjustment after their release.

Frankl discovered that although the prisoners seemed completely powerless, they had the freedom to choose their reactions to their circumstances. Those prisoners who were most resilient were those who had something to live for....

Frankl and his family were interned early on in the war. How did Viktor survive? What is logotherapy and why is it needed. "Logotherapy celebrates what sets humans apart." Who were Capos? This story follows Viktor Frankl as he is subject to life in the WWII concentration camps. Frankle was finally released in 1945 but he has some extreme memories from his time spent in those dreadful camps. I really think this is an awesome story to have children read, My almost 11 year old will be reading it for his history homeschool class this fall. It is inspiring to see how people can take such a horrific experience and turn it around. One mans journey through concentration camps and his development of logotherapy By Chilehead Craig With so few minutes in the day, who has time to read whole books? I sure don't, but with these book summaries, it gives me a chance to get a quick synopsis of the book, hitting the highlights. Regarding this book, it gives new insight and a new approach for how someone decides to live their life and how they find meaning. While there are theories that meaning can be found by seeking power or pleasure, this explores the notion that meaning can be (and probably should be) gained by an accomplishment, life experiences or in how they deal with difficulty. Love in and of itself can also bring purpose and meaning. Many of these notions fall under an idea known as logotherapy, which was developed by Frankl.Frankl's story is well told and summarized in this Instaread and follows his life journey in concentration camps and through his interactions with other prisoners. Anyone interested in learning more about logotherapy or one man's story in concentration camps should consider this summary. If it peaks your interest, then purchasing the original book may be the next step, but for me this summary was enough to exercise my brain and learn a little something new. On to the next Instaread!

Uva is the author of the world-renowned, Grip Book! (A.k.a.= The Grip Bible.) (Now in it’s fifth edition/Taylor-Francis) Why it’s even been translated into Korean. Funny thing is, Mike can’t spell or type, nor does he have any command of the English language. None of that has held him back. Actually not much holds him back. Not even a one half inch shorter left leg. (Courtesy of a motorcycle jumping accident while serving eight years in the Marines.) So after his medical discharge, he became a Licensed FAA Aircraft Mechanic at LAX in California. By Kentucky Boy Having both the honor and privilege to attend UCLA-DF with Kevin Grange, I'm here to tell you his description of the path to becoming a paramedic is spot on! The picture he paints of the daily routine throughout the 9 months of education truly encompasses the physical, mental and most importantly emotional commitment required to successfully complete the curriculum, and more importantly apply that knowledge to the mean streets of paramedicine. I can't tell you how many times I got cold chills not only because I shared the same experience, but because the way Kevin describes how he felt during this process especially during the field internship phase. Anyone who wants a streamlined and concise understanding of what it takes to be the person showing up when 911 is called this is the book to read! Well Done!

This is an absolute MUST READ for every EMT thinking about going to paramedic school. The descriptions of the trials and tribulations are right on the money; what lay ahead for paramedic students is painted in vivid and real color. For veteran paramedics, this book will, no doubt, bring you back to your roots; remind you where you came from and why you do what you do. For me, this book brought back memories and stirred emotions I have long since tucked away. Both as a paramedic intern and as a paramedic preceptor, I can relate to the terror and triumph Kevin describes in agonizing detail. Best of all, this book offers a great behind-the-scenes look for anyone and everyone who has ever marveled as an ambulance blazed by with lights and sirens.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. 9 Months to Deliver the Respect They Deserve By Full of Wonder The paragraph on page 264 sums up well the style and substance of this book: "I couldn't help but think how Eddie's skills were a combination of several different careers: he possessed the critical thinking skills of an ER doctor, the compassion of a nurse, the leadership skills of a great coach, and a police officer's expertise in scene management, and he handled his equipment like a competent mechanic. There was a choreography and grace to the call that even reminded me of a conductor." This well written book helps one to appreciate the rigors of gaining the title of paramedic and the demands the job entails on a daily basis.

Starsheen History Of Psychology- (Value Pack w/MySearchLab) was one of the texts for a graduate course in psychology I recently took through the University of Phoenix Online's program. I found this book to be very accessible, as it traced the historical roots of psychology in different philosophical schools through the centuries. The book broadens the usual search for the background making up psychology to include women, people of color, and more than just Western European and American perspectives. It is thorough, and makes the reader realize the global scope of the origins of psychology.My one criticism was the authors' decision to create separate chapters for women's and people of color's contributions to psychology. While this reflects the extreme difficulty these groups had gaining access to training and credentials in academic psychology at the turn of the 20th Century, keeping them separate reinforces the "strangeness" of their experience for me. A more accurate story of their struggle would be integrated into the narrative of the "Great White Men" who both helped and hindered their careers, instead of lauding the latter and then turning around and taking them down. The ongoing struggle for civil equality does not sit on the sidelines of history--it IS history.Most people think that psychology began with Freud's theories, a myth this book robustly busts. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see how the different theoretical perspectives in psychology have evolved in the present day.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. One of the most helpful texts of my degree By Ye Shall Be As Gods I found this to be an incredibly useful text. In fact I would say this was the book I learned the most from of any text in my undergraduate degree. If this book has a flaw it is that it is packed with so much information that one class couldn't possibly do justice to it all, hence why my school used this book for two classes.I found the chapters on the various schools of therapy to be very useful in writing a senior capstone paper at the end of my program. Differentiating the different theoretical bases and goals of the different kinds of therapy is something not a lot of other books do well. Combine these chapters of this book with some of the video examples there are out there such as the very old videos of Rogers, Ellis, and Perls each taking turns demonstrating their therapies with a woman named Gloria back in the 50s or the 60s and you have a great tool kit for teaching beginner therapy techniques.

A must for the Lush Fan By Mark The interviews are fairly extensive although I would have liked them to be longer and not included questions about shoe gaze and other topics that have been covered many times in previous articles.There are however some very candid and honest revelations from Miki and Emma that I have never seen in print before as well as a fascinating look into the writing and meaning of many of their songs. There are enlightening new comments from Miki about her and Emmas guitar playing and song writing approach which I found very interesting. Both Emma and Miki's replies to the interview questions are witty, thoughtful and inspiring and it is wonderful to read their thoughts on Lush some 20 years laterIf, like me, you eagerly seek out anything new from Emma and Miki then you need this mIgazine. Highly recommended for Lush super fans who know just how special this group and their music was.

Kia is a talented writer and it shows through her books. This book is about a manwhore named Hayden. He loves sex and has plenty of women willing to be with him. He has a best friend that has a wife and family, and now Hayden is wanting the same thing. He has stated a list of five ladies he thinks one will be perfect for him. Can he find the one that can change his way and make him happy, or will he be the same manwhore? Please if you have not read this book I suggest you do so now!!! It's full of hot steamy sex in order for Hayden to find his true love. Kia Carrington Russell thank you for such an amazing read!!!!

This book was generously provided to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.Hayden Zilch has been very successful in his professional life. He came from a bad childhood, abandoned by his mother and abused by his father. He became a sports manager/investor and started his own business in Ithaca, New York, Zilch Enterprises, and has enjoyed much success. Hayden is also very successful with the ladies. He has a regular selection that keep him sexually satisfied at his choosing. But as of late, Hayden has begun to want more. To actually have a single loving relationship that could lead to marriage and children. But how to ever choose. How does one find “the one?”“When you find her, the woman you will marry, it will most likely come in the most unexpected way. Love does not just fall into your lap. It slaps you in the face before you even realize it was there.”With the help of his personal assistant, Amber, Hayden makes a list of five women that could be candidates. He is supposed to date these women, get to know them, instead of instantly jumping into bed with them.Although the premise of this book was very cute, I just couldn’t find it in myself to like Hayden much. He really was a man whore but that isn’t why I didn’t like him. He had zero self-control with any of the women, and I thought he was terribly immature. He would get himself into the craziest of situations. And honestly, none of the women were good candidates. Well, maybe one could have been but she took herself out of the running.If you want a quick, sexy romp, you will enjoy this book. And it was sexy. But along with that, I wanted to feel something for the MC and that never really did happen.

But then again, when a playboy decides to put away his old ways and find the “one” it’s bound to be funny. Some of the situations Hayden put himself in were off the wall crazy. Not to mention the women surrounding him as well. I honestly have no clue where Hayden found the women in his life. They sure did make things interesting.I did enjoy reading more about Hayden’s character. He has some hidden parts of his past that I’d love to learn more about. He keeps his past very secretive, as if he’s more ashamed of it than anything. I hope in the next book the author reveals more into Hayden’s past. I also hope Hayden’s character matures more. He does want to find the one for him, but I don’t think he’s taking it seriously. There was so many times he could’ve put away his own desires but he gave in to easily. But he is a guy, so of course he’d only think with one part of his anatomy.I am very interested to see what will come out of Hayden’s quest. The author has me sucked into the world of Hayden, so I will be on the lookout for the next book. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for a hot, quick, and steamy read!

Alzheimer’s: Embracing the Humor is a compilation of short stories that were inspired by photographs of a life with both parents afflicted with AD. The double whammy and it's compounding effect sets the stage for some stories, funny tragic stories. Trained in the visual arts, I know a technically good photograph when I see one. None here. These photos are of the moment and without the invention of cameras in phones, these little life tableaus would be lost as my parents cannot be set up for posing. They loose focus and the poignancy is gone. I found that without an approach infused with humor, dealing/helping my parents would become untenable. A good pairing because the things that they did and continue to do are ironic, charming and down right hilarious. I just write what I see. 60 pages. A quick read that can be done again and again. At that time, I was caring for my great uncle who was 97 and had broken his hip. The experience of providing care for him was difficult & at times overwhelming, and he was one person who ‘only’ had age related dementia. Uncle Al was a terrific man so somehow I managed and he made it to 100!Many years later Nina moved her parents to the west coast because they both (yes both!) have Alzheimer’s. Because of my experience with Uncle Al, I have a small glimmer of the challenge she faces. Nina is extraordinary and handles this most difficult of situations with extraordinary kindness and patience. Her love, grace & humor with the adventures of George & Mary are captured in this ebook. Thor the wonder dog even has a starring role.

After a short period of time I found myself tearing off the page each day without doing the "game." First, the variety is limited to just a few different types of brain exercises. Second, some of these exercises are simply a matter of memorizing a list of words and seeing how well you do or placing numbers in ascending or descending order. There are also several of the "find the hidden word" type. While I'm sure all this has some salutary effect on the brain, the exercises are not of the quality or the variety I was anticipating.

This calendar has games that ask you to remember 5 things on the page and then close you eyes to try to remember the 5 items. Sure, it works your mind but I like the puzzles that I'm used to with the other calendars better.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An entertaining story with an insightful message By Tea En 'Time Won't Tell' entertained me immensely. It is a light read that really made me think. It brought my attention to frustrations I didn't realize I had with time and what it does to our lives without asking for permission. At some point, it speaks optimistically of how the protagonist - aptly named Now - could possibly solve the dilemma he's faced with, making me think I'm about to find the interesting solution to an age old problem. The entire story is actually a clever play on words, which Erik Berns maintains from start to finish. It ends abruptly and in a way that left me thinking about the book and its message for the rest of the day.

The book titled, " Time won't tell" , is a good read to know everything about time.The words are poetic, a pleasure to read. The story begins with an Instant named now, who is in a mobile prison. Now wishes to know about Time's secrets. The thing about time is, you can always spend your time, but can never earn it. It is the master of universe.The book could be read out to children to explain them about seconds,minutes, months, years, decades, etc.For elders , it is a reminder that Time is the master.
