Interesting Movie Summary By Mitch First, a disclaimer: Chris Soth is my screenwriting mentor AND I was present for the discussion in the audio link.Chris has written a full-length book on his story structure theory. He has also written eight monographs that go into more detail, one for each of the mini-movies in his theory.This monograph summarizes the movie, "Jurassic World." It also focuses quite on creating and sustaining tension in a screenplay.While this is not my favorite monograph in the series, I did find the discussion of tension from the perspective of a summer blockbuster movie to be helpful. What's worth the price of admission for me is the .MP3 audio link. The monograph is a transcript. You do not get the full experience of just how fast Chris's mind works when he's analyzing a movie until you hear him making a presentation. ;)What the monograph is missing is any application to the specifics of his mini-movie theory. The movie is broken down into eight mini-movies, but the absence of direct ties to the specifics of his theory for each mini-movie was a disappointment
