About the Author Resa has more than 20 years experience as a reporter, writer and editor for radio, television, newspapers and magazines and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Georgia. Her work has been published in both local and national publications including Pro, Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal, Winston Cup Scene and Winston Cup Illustrated. She has helped launch three magazines in Charlotte, including My School Rocks! magazine, where she served as Editor-in-Chief. Most recently she was contributing editor at Charlotte Parent magazine.

Hopkins Resa has bravely told her story of her personal journey of teen sexual assault, the abusive relationship she was in and how she, alone, got herself out. Her story is real and shows that this terror can happen to anyone regardless of economic statue, education, color, and more. Through her own hard and most difficult personal work , Resa tells with honesty, humor and the terror of her recovery....using faith, therapy, and other resources that healing and recovery is possible....but that it is not easy...it takes determination, loss,hurt, and more to heal and that true recovery and healing is a lifetime journey to becoming whole again.

By Matt Roy Resa's journey provides great insights for all those who have suffered from any form of trauma or abuse. Moreover this book takes an honest look at the mistakes we all make in our search for love, all while providing simple, thoughtful and funny ways we can examine and better ourselves through her testimonial. This is not your typical After School Special where a tragic event is all wrapped up with smiles and hugs in a 60-minute airing. This is much more, it's a story that needs to be read and it's a story that needs to be shared.
