My only regret is that I also purchased the latest Zits bound book and these daily cartoons are almost all in that as well. Lesson learned. Just get one or the other, not both.

By Eric Profanity Granny is certainly far from the typical children's book that Hatt writes. This book is intended for the parents, I laughed incredibly hard and found all sorts of similarities to my grandmother. My grandma use to do crosswords and puzzles, it is disturbing to picture her doing them in the bathroom. An old lady can get away with all the things mentioned in this book, it is absolutely epic. I am a firm believer that once you turn 80, you can say anything you would like and nobody can yell at you for it. If you had a boisterous grandmother, then this book is certainly for you. Enjoy the laughs and memories, I certainly did.

My Kind of Gal By Debkeepsitreal Profanity Granny reminds me of my own Granny who always told me that sweetness never got her anywhere, but bein' crass makes people stand up and take notice. I mean ya gotta love a gal who is shootin' the bird on the cover and has more spunk in her wrinkled fingers than more young'uns have in their whole body. Rock on Granny!

It was in a plastic bag and the cover and some of the pages were quite damaged, both inside and out. I have frequently ordered books from overseas and haven't ever had a problem before. The pictures are very pretty and I love that there is a colored picture to guide my learning to color flowers. However, and to me, most importantly, the paper is horrible. It is markedly thinner than a Creative Haven Coloring book, and I think even thinner than a regular Dover book. If you print your pics on to nicer paper, you won't mind, but I like to color in the book. I have the exotic flower book coming from a different seller and I'll be interested how they ship it and in what condition it arrives. I'm sorry to say that when I add the damaged condition and the horrible paper, I can only give it 2 stars.

I also have the Kew Gardens Exotic Plants Coloring Book which is more challenging the this one but this book let's me do a picture faster because it's a bit simpler. I wish the paper was a little better, but it isn't bad either. All in all, I'm pleased with these books

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. the Creation of Creation By Lovblad Excellent book on the rise and fall of Creation Records and their founder Alan McGee. Creation was one of those labels where one would wait for every release. They provided us with My Bloody Valentine and Oasis as well as Primal Scream and many others. As with Factory Records it was the case of an incredibly inspired individual who created a label that would define its time and eventually go bancrupt. While to some degree the records that came from Creation are probably less important historically(Factory had Joy Division!), they may have had a more important stylistic and artistic impact (Screamadelica by Primal Scream, Loveless by My Blood Valentine). However this great book, written by former NME writer Paolo Hewitt is better than his other efforts writing about the Jam or Oasis.

About the Author Frances Southwick, D.O. is a physician and non-fiction writer. Each step along her academic path, she has been inspired to write and share her experiences. Her work "Short Prose" was published in Spiritus Mundi, Colorado State University's Honors literary magazine. Her essay "How Patients Teach Their Doctors about Humanism in Medicine" was published the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine Magazine. Her co-authored article entitled "Exploring Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy in an Elderly Patient with Acute Anxiety Attack" was published in the West Virginia Medical Journal. Most recently, her essay, "Jude Asleep" was selected for the upcoming volume of Voices from the Attic, a publication from participants in Madwomen in the Attic writing courses at Carlow, University. She earned her B.A. in philosophy from Colorado State University, her D.O. from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her family medicine residency training at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh. Her most recent work, Prognosis: Poor, is her memoir that addresses the medical training process in the U.S. Dr. Southwick practices family medicine with special interest in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in Pittsburgh, PA. She teaches family medicine residents at Shadyside Hospital and co-leads a Balint group for University of Pittsburgh medical students. She lives with her wife Judith Avers and their beloved three gray cats. By sharing her life experiences, she aims to give validation, hope and peace to those in similar circumstances.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Honest, bold, eye-opening - a TRUE account of what it is really like to be a medicine resident. By Becky Simply put, I loved this book. I am writing this review from a Pharmacist perspective. Odd, right? I've worked at a Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital as the graveyard shift pharmacist for the last 7 years. I'm the one that gets the call at 02:00 AM from the desperate medicine resident who can't figure out how to order acetaminophen. I'm also the one that pages the intern on their 25th hour of call to let them know that they just entered a lethal dose of vecuronium into the computer system. If you "Google" my hospital's medical residency program, you'll see words like "malignant"; "tyranny", "intimidation". Let me just say, my hospital is nationally recognized. We are GOOD at what we do, and our expectation is to stay that way. BUT, I have seen first hand how poorly our medical/surgical residents are treated.This book is a quick read and an imperative one for anyone considering becoming a doctor, going into/or currently in a residency program. Honestly, I've even recommended this book to my Pharmacist Interns that are considering a Pharmacist Residency and/or Fellowship. Dr. Southwick delves into subjects that no one else has really been brave enough to address - mental illness, suicide, extreme psychological stress. She does it SO WELL. She addresses the hard stuff and finds room to "keep it light". It is relatable even if you aren't in the medical field.I hope this book ellicits change. I hope this book reaches a resident that just needs someone to tell them they are not alone. Right this moment, one of our medicine residents is admitted to my hospital for suicidal ideation. I am so glad someone finally had the courage to write about this aspect of residency training.

Medical education is grueling physically and emotionally and financially expensive. For some, the cost may be too high. This biography, tells about one physician's journey in becoming a member of the The House of God. This book would be an excellent choice for a medical student or resident physician's book discussion group. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this biography and wish there were more resources to help those on this arduous journey of medical education. Thank you Dr. Southwick for sharing your story

The story has some similar themes for those pursuing a PhD or EdD. When posing questions to doctoral committees about what felt like unreasonable expectations, the common response to a student has been, "I had to do it this way....so you must too." And, sadly, very little has changed.I think this book should be required reading for all individuals considering a career in medicine, and for the faculty who are responsible for their medical training. Students are human beings, first and foremost, and should, from my perspective, be treated as such. The demands that faculty and staff currently place on doctors is inhumane, leading to some very sad outcomes, as Dr. Southwick illustrated in this book.If many many individuals read this book, perhaps we'll form a groundswell of support for change. Such would be my wish.My thanks to Dr. Southwick for making time in your full schedule to write this book. I'm most appreciative.

I mean, John Philip Sousa may have fit the time frame, but I don't think of him as "romantic" at all.Others are exquisite. Tony is one of the best uke arrangers out there. His CD with performances of his arrangements is really top notch and fun to listen to on its own.If you've owned his other books, you already know you'd like this, too.

It was just what I was looking for! As someone who oversees psychology and social work trainees, I had always pieced together CBT resources. This puts it together in a logical easy way without being over the top (like a manual can be sometimes). I love the online stuff that goes with it. There is also great info about supervision. That is something that was definitely lacking in the field. This is going to make my life easier and make my training efforts more effective. Thank you!

By Susan Stagno Dr. Sudak and her colleagues have provided us with a remarkable resource with their book "Teaching and Supervising Cognitive Behavioral Therapy". This volume will serve any mental health professional who is involved in training future therapists very well. The book itself provides practical, up-to-date (including the use of technology), and evidence-based information and advice for those teaching and supervising this critical competency for psychiatry residents, psychology graduate students and others. The book includes chapters on measurement of competency of CBT skills, and how to provide feedback to our trainees, as well as 'priming' our trainees for how to become life-long learners.In addition to the book itself, there are extremely helpful resources provided in an online companion website that includes videos, forms, assessment tools, course modules and syllabi which are inclusive and extremely useful for both individual learning and faculty development programs.Susan Stagno MD

I got it at 99c..but would have easily purchased it at 2.99..great information. The book focuses on the Greeks personification of time and chaos. Its crazy how mythology has come into being...while the book talks about Ancient Greece...you can't help but to wonder how this plays out in our modern society...and now new myths are being developed.

If any new information to research catches my eye I HAVE to learn all I can about it. Diabetes is a big issue affecting the health of our modern day society. I am hoping one day I can contribute to fixing the issue by teaching people how to improve their diets so they do not get diabetes in the first place. Help those who already have it and hopefully reverse it. This book provided me with so much information I now know exactly what Diabetes is, how it happens, and how to go about preventing it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to learn more about Diabetes!

First of let me say I don't have diabetes myself, I read this to better understand it so I can talk and understand more about it with my friend that has diabetes. This book as really opened my eyes to a lot of the things I thought weren't much of a big deal before on diabetes.The guide goes through the different types of diabetes, symptoms, causes, along with going over all the treatments associated with each type and then covers each in detail.One of the best ways to keep your diabetes in check is too properly eat, the guide goes through and points out what are the best foods for you to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I really liked her end of chapter outlines that cover the topics, what to eat and what not to eat. Then the guide goes into setting up meal plans and how to do this for your own meals.The last part of the guide is a question and answers section that cover dieting as a diabetic. In this section there are many ideas and tips on dieting, which are worth the cost of the book alone.If you need to learn more are diabetes this is the guide for you. Learn more about diabetes and learn the right was to stay healthier in the process. I highly recommend this book.

I'm a sponge right now. My bad health has gotten my attention and you bet I'm listening. I've read as many books on diabetes as I can find, and not one came close to covering the disease and how to cope with it as this book. For me the most valuable section for me was the section on the difference between the diabetic diet and the glycemic index diet. The author breaks each section down into bite-sized yet comprehensive pieces. which was nice for me since I am already completely overwhelmed. The book even provides meal plan samples. Don't hesitate to buy this book. I found it to be extremely helpful!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. ROCK BISON FINALLY GETS SCREEN/PANEL TIME 0.o By LadyoftheLake5 Did you guys hear the writer actually liked Bison the best in the series? Hard to tell, huh? Especially because there wasn't an episode that focused on him as an individual, per se. Well, he finally gets a little involvement in this story arc! Yay! Although it probably could have developed his and Kotetsu's relationship a little more than it did, it's still fun to imagine what would have happened in the series. At least I do.Highly recommend!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great Volume By Eileen M. Love the series so far and I can't wait for volume 8. Volume 7 has left off at a good cliff hanger and it was nice to read about the other (non main) characters and get more time with them, especially Origami Cyclone.
