I had not read anything by this author and the blurb sounded interesting.This book started out with a fair bit of back ground information on the main person Darlene and as the story progressed seemedto take a different path on the usual stories about werewolves and vampires and all things supernatural.This is book 1 (219 pages) in a series and there is a sort of resolution/ending at the end of the book.I found at the end of the book that I really did not care enough about Darlene and her werewolf lover andthe other story lines that were left hanging, to purchase the rest of the books in this series to find out what happens next..
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Alpha Packed is a terrific new book from Darla Dunbar! By smithfan I enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend it.The leading lady, Darlene, is a little insecure, which isn't necessarily unusual but seems to occupy a lot of her thoughts. I like how the author takes her time revealing Darlene's past. The love interest is a great character and I really get a feel for him. They have all the normal concerns of regular humans without their paranormal natures thrown in. You could almost have the same relationship story with any backdrop.This particular story has werewolf colliding with vampire and a few twists that aren't that unpredictable but still crank up the tension and intrigue. And there's even a little mystery feel to the story.I can't wait for the next book to see what happens next!
