The reason I give a 4 instead of 5 is simply because it would be much nicer if it included a hanger or magnetic strip, or ANYTHING other than the single hole punched through the paper to hang it by, which inevitably rips by the third or fourth month of use. I had one of these wonderful hanging strips from last years calendar, but this calendar would not fit.

Potentially Unhelpful Review by a Casual Guitar Player By Abel Diaz Urbina This is a great score and tab book but unlike previous Tommy Emmanuel music books this one is not published by Mel Bay but by Hal Leonard under its Guitar Recorded Versions series. Because of that, this version employs musical signs such as repeat signs, D.C. al Coda 2, D.S. al Coda, et cetera. It is not like the previous Mel Bay books where the songs were written out in a start-to-finish manner. Nonetheless, if one can get through this, or knows a little about music reading, one will be fine in using this novelty of a music book.One thing though, it appears to me that there is an extra repeat sign in the song Haba Na Haba (Instrumental). The first repeat sign at section B of the song doesn't have an "ending" repeat sign later in the song. The song continues as if it didn't have one. I may be wrong in thinking this is a mistake. I taught myself how to read music so it is highly likely this could be my fault. If anyone knows better, please enlighten me.

About the Author Edan Curtis is a Los Angeles based artist. This is her second Coloring Book for Grown-Ups. She enjoys bringing art projects to people that feel they are not necessarily artistically gifted. She discovered this when one of her art students (age 73) said he had never felt so relaxed as he had during the art class and would spend the rest of his life painting and coloring (even though he considered himself an amateur). With the belief that art is for everyone she designed this second book to be more elegant and natural. The designs are intended not only to be fun but to become colorful artworks the user can hang or frame. Coloring books are a great way to unwind and loose yourself in the artistic process.

Bible Stories Mother Never Told Me, by C L Putnam

About the Author CL Putnam is a retired Highway Engineering Quality Specialist, who lives in the picturesque Rogue River Valley of Southern Oregon. While employed with the Oregon Department of Transportation, she was asked to write the narratives for three major infrastructure projects that had been nominated for national recognition. Due to her writing skills, all three won the “Gold Award” for their category. In 1977 she graduated from El Camino College in Torrance, California with a degree in history. Her special interests include anthropology, psychology and comparative religions. As a freelance writer, she has had articles published in Western Horseman, Equus and American Atheist magazines, along with numerous other publications. (She also has nearly 300 “Letters to the Editor” to her credit.) She is currently working on her fifth novel. When not at the keyboard, she enjoys hiking, cycling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tennis, kayaking, horseback riding and scuba diving. An accomplished horsewoman, she has bred, trained and shown registered Quarter Horses and Arabians. When time permits, she loves to travel. Her favorite “travel adventure” was the pilgrimage she made to the Holy Land…during a Lebanese rocket attack. She is active in several charitable organizations, including the MS Society, Diabetes Association, Habitat for Humanity, and Jackson County (Oregon) Historical Society. For seven years she was a volunteer and board member for HOPE (Horses Offering People Excellence), a therapeutic horseback riding facility for physically and emotionally challenged children and adults. At present, she is a “foster mother” to abandoned cats and kittens for the CATS (Committed Alliance To Strays) organization of Medford, Oregon. She is an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights and teaches self-defense for women and children. Her life motto is, “Well, there’s always Plan B.”

CL Putnam brings to life the WHOLE story of some familiar Sunday School tales and adds juicy details to many others that I never knew existed. The humor is raw and hilarious, the commentaries are thought provoking and deliciously satirical. I would highly recommend this to anyone who really wants to know what the churches have been hiding all these years!!

I was raised and educated in a remarkably close conservative religious environment, and yet as a Senior Citizen, I am reading for the first time several obscene Biblical anecdotes. As the author states, it was emotionally difficult for her to even write about at least one of those. Funny stuff, too, and highly readable. Entertaining, but slightly downgraded for unnecessary use of "bad" language. I'm no prude, but it was off-putting.

I've often found the stories in the Bible (which were written by men) somewhat disconcerting and now I know why. Thanks CL for making things perfectly clear. I hope CL plans to translate the entire Bible!! I highly recommend this to anyone who is searching for the truth and not just accepting things they are told "just because"!!

I was a garbage rat wandering the Midtown streets past 10pm (on a school night, mind you) with a band of hooligans. I cast those companions aside. I picked up Tim and Eric's Zone Theory and you could say that it really opened my eyes. I divorced my real wife and all my friends became discards. It only took SECONDS (that's it!) to become a Zone Plane 8. My Zone wife J'ulani are expecting our first zone child in March. My Quar levels are at an all time high. I recommend that you buy this book. Stop praising the low god Prim and look to the Turkey Lord. Ba'hee, my friends.

The 1970s was a pivotal decade in the Indian social, cultural, political and economic landscape: the global oil crisis, wars with China and Pakistan in the previous decade, the Bangladesh war of 1971, labour and food shortages, widespread political corruption, and the declaration of the state of Emergency. Amidst this backdrop Indian cinema in both its popular and art/parallel film forms flourished.

About the Author

Priya Joshi is Associate Professor of English and Founding Director of the New India Forum at Temple University, USA. She is author of the forthcoming Nationalism and Public Fantasy in Bollywood Cinema, a sequel to her prize-winning book, In Another Country: Colonialism, Culture and the English Novel in India (2002), in which she explored public culture and emerging modernities in South Asia.

Rajinder Dudrah is Senior Lecturer in Screen Studies at the University of Manchester, UK. He has researched and published widely in film, media and cultural studies in international journals. His books include Bollywood Travels: Culture, Diaspora and Border Crossings in Popular Hindi Cinema (2012), Bhangra: Birmingham and Beyond (2007), and Bollywood: Sociology Goes to the Movies (2006).

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic... By W. C. Rhodes I own a dozen of these Map Packs, produced over the past five years (older ones are not laminated). I will be buying several more. Paizo's products are superior. I do own two of the Flip Mats, and find those more difficult to work with unless you have a clear Plexiglas/Acrylic covering over them. I prefer these card stock tiles much more as I can CUSTOMIZE the scene for the setting or play space, the flip mats require more table space. These can combine with other sets as well and thus open MANY MORE OPTIONS. Do know that, not being covered they may move during play incidentally. I would gladly take that versus the thicker DnD boxed map tiles as the Map Pack requires much lets to readjust. The ARTWORK easily compares to them, and thus make a better product overall. I use both figures (metal/plastic) and Steve Jackson's Card Board Heroes (with stands) but prefer the latter.

Cried when I read that Ron was there the night the skywalk fell in K.C. I've known Ron since 1980 and never heard him tell that story. It proves how sad and sensitive he still is about that horrific night when he was playing a gig....and then disaster struck. I had the honor of playing flute for him in the orchestra he put together for Medea which he writes about in the book. I'm so proud to know this very talented man and I celebrate his writing talents as well as his incredible bass playing! I highly recommend this book! You won't be disappointed.

About the Author Leo Wiltshire lives in Virginia Beach, VA with his wife, Eileen, two cats, and whatever Foster child is placed with them. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, MA, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership degree from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. He has been a fan of Bela Lugosi since 1969 when, as an eight-year-old, he was afraid that Dracula and the Frankenstein monster were hiding in his bedroom closet, waiting to get him every night as he fell asleep. As an adult, Leo now understands that there is no such thing as monsters hiding in the closet. They’re under the bed!!!

Gibson This is a short volume and is not intended to be an in-depth look at Lugosi's life. However, the author does a thorough, excellent job in providing a short biography of Bela Lugosi's life. He has done his research and readers interested in learning more should pursue the footnotes, which point to excellent Lugosi biographers such as Gary Don Rhodes and Frank Dello Stritto. I recommend this book for those wanting to learn more about the Count and for even more advanced Lugosi fans, as another resource.

His complicated and difficult life offers us a glimpse of someone who persevered through all the ups and downs presented to him. Bella never gave up on his passion and his persona, both on and off screen still fascinates and inspires today.

As a result of surviving a traumatic brain injury (TBI), the “cannots,” “will nots,” and “certainly nevers” well outnumbered everything else still in Jake’s life. While having all the odds against him, but with the support of his family, Jake faced wall after wall of difficulties. Running into one of his emergency room (ER) doctors about six years after the accident, Jake was told in reference to his achievements after surviving his TBI that he was one in a billion. The ER doc went on to say another digit should be added to the billion for every notable achievement Jake makes in the future. Starting in Jake’s tough months of being an inpatient at the rehab, and covering the first twelve years post injury, this book uses Jake’s life history as a foundation to inform the reader of Jake’s findings, both in and out of the rehab, both in and out of school, and even includes his professional research findings on many different subjects involving surviving a TBI. While Jake’s intentions are to help the reader keep her/his hope(s) alive and/or find the ability to overcome his or her own difficulties after surviving a TBI, or to help the families of survivors do the same. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Must-Read for those close to Traumatic Brain Injury By J. C. Adkins This book was recommended to me by my son, who also suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). I consider it a must-read by anyone who has suffered a TBI and by their families.Mr Band begins his book on the day of the automobile accident that left him and his girlfriend fighting for their lives. The TBI was his major injury, though he apparently had other, also life-threatening, internal injuries. He was comatose for at least several weeks after the accident, and the description of this phase is abbreviated, since Mr Band’s goal is to give us his first-hand experiences. As he returned to vague consciousness, he was transferred to a rehabilitation facility (RF) for that arduous phase of his care. The book proceeds with a discussion of the entries in the RF logbook, each accompanied by his perception of what was going on. This part of the book is particularly painful (to him, and to the reader as well) because of his extremely limited physical abilities and communication skills. He underscores the value of support by his family and his girlfriend, as well as that of compassionate care givers. He is incensed by some of the professional staff at the RF who declared early-on that his function as a person and in society would be extremely limited because of his TBI. He strongly applauds the staff members who refused to place limits on his possibilities.After discharge from the RF, Mr Band continued physical therapy as an outpatient. His commentary about this process continues, as it does throughout the book, always giving insights into his thoughts, feelings, and motivation. As if to repudiate the pessimism of some of his RF caregivers, he enrolls in a community college, and he describes his gradual improvement in cognitive, communication, and academic skills. After finishing his program there, Mr Band enrolls in a four year school, which he calls Holy Ghost University (HGU). The book continues to describe the educational process from his standpoint, as well as the challenges accompanying his physical limitations, which require him to use a wheelchair to get around. He graduated from HGU and proceeds on.At this point, I should mention that his girlfriend, Jen, stayed with him throughout the process. Mr Band is effusive in expressing his feelings for this woman and for her love for him. They were married the summer after he graduated from HGU. The book describes the difficulty in finding a suitable accessible home for their married life.Following graduation from HGU, the couple moved to a different city and university for him to enter a graduate program in rehabilitation for TBI. This part of the book is detailed in his description of his unsatisfying experience in that program, the inaccessibility of many of the classrooms at the campus, and the lack of interest of that university in improving such inaccessibility.Mr Band winds up the book with a philosophical discussion of his experiences and challenges following his TBI. His insights are deep and valuable food for thought for those of us who are family members of such individuals. He deals honestly and clearly with his own difficulty in handling anger resulting from miscommunication, barriers, and being treated as less than a competent person.In many ways, Being Here is a love letter to Jen. Mr Band credits her, and to a lesser extent his family, for his being able to grind through the process of recovery—which he calls discovery—from his TBI. One cannot overemphasize the importance of support by loved ones for individuals with these injuries.A final word about the writing is in order. At the beginning of the book, Mr Band explains that he chose not to employ a professional copy editor for the book. He wants his readers to see and understand the thinking and writing first-hand, without interpositioning of another party. The decision has its plusses and minuses. On the negative side, some sentences are a bit difficult to follow the first time they’re read. On the plus side, the reader is able to see that a person who has suffered a near-fatal TBI is able to express himself ably and deeply. I am so happy that this book was brought to my attention.
