What I do want to say, that I didn't see in any of the reviews I read, is that this is NOT a "book". It is maybe the first quarter/third? of a book. While this one is free the others cost $3.09 each. As long as you know that going in that's fine you can decide if the other "parts" are worth it to you. The other parts are listed at the bottom of the book description in order, those are not sequels in the same series, maybe not even all the parts. While I have in the past and will in the future bought book "parts" I wish the author had listed it as such. It personally turns me off buying the rest when it's not stated up front.Edit: Ok, in the authors defense they did put this little section in the description that I totally missed..... (see below)..... In my defense their still calling it a book. [ ** The Boss is book 1 in the Managing the Bosses series. All your questions won't be answered in the first book. It may end on a cliff hanger. ]

The MC was being used by everyone in her family, she was the victim of verbal abuse as well and the worst part is she loved them all anyways. She's "overweight" because she's a size 12? Come on. By Tara Phillips tp_virtual_asst Sexy and smart this boss has all the elements of a good boss and a bad boyfriend. Incredible plot I can't stop thinking about because it is so realistic, but don't shy away from this book too quickly there is sibling rivalry, weddings, affairs, demeaning attitudes, and fat to thin body size family arguments. The Boss basically saves Lexie from herself and helps her through her family struggles understanding matters from his own,The build up to the sexual scenes comes with intrigue and tension positively worth the wait!

Example: live life without fear. I would really like to see more coloring books by this author, Nadine Staaf. I would buy them in a heartbeat.PS... Non of the pictures are repetive and are interesting.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Not for me! By Dina M. Nizza I know everyone wants to get on the Adult Coloring bandwagon, but it doesn't mean that you produce poor quality pages. I wanted this book because there aren't too many "pocket-size" coloring books, and I like to color when I travel, without having to lug around too much products. But the drawings leave a lot to be desired and I don't need to read words in my coloring pages. The artwork is sub-par. I only wish many of the good artists would make pocket-size pages! some have, and I have bought those books and those books are so much nicer to color!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This is an important book to read on a major nuclear reactor accident. By David Ecale It follows the design and operation of the Windscale reactor complex and its two graphite pile reactors with a particular interest in pile number one which had a breakdown and developed a graphite fire in 1957. Before going through a detailed review, however, I do wish to point out that except for the 8 pages, or so, concerning the high drama of the accident itself, the book is pretty much as dry as dust. Ok, that said:1) The reactors were built by the British Government to primarily produce plutonium-239 for military purposes in atomic bomb research, manufacture, and testing.2) The reactors were quite primitive in design. Basically large blocks of almost pure graphite with a series of horizontal holes drilled through them.3) The holes in the reactors were used to either insert moderating (slow down & absorb neutrons) materials or nuclear material for transmutation from one element into another (mostly uranium-238 into plutonium-239)4) The nuclear material was enclosed in cylinders that were pushed into the reactor core from one side and discharged after time out of the other side.5) The graphite had a habit of absorbing some of the nuclear energy and retaining it as a discontinuity in the crystalline lattice of the graphite.6) The solution to the energy retention was to heat up the affected area in order to re-arrange and restore the crystalline lattice of the graphite through the process of annealing.7) The ninth annealing process was the one that didn't work properly as an area of the pile overheated & a fire ensued.8) Here is where the fatal design defect of the pile was revealed. The pile was air cooled. Pushing more air through the pile to cool it only enhanced the fire by fanning the flames (air being about 18% oxygen). And just like blowing on a fire to blow out the flames doesn't work for a large fire, it didn't here, either.9) Lots of ugly stuff was blown out of the pile & up the chimney stacks into the atmosphere. By great good luck, some was filtered out, but a lot was not. The worst of these released in the short term was iodine-131 (which can cause thyroid cancer if ingested).10) Milk consumption was banned (milk having large concentrations of iodine-131 in the affected area). The good news was that iodine-131 has a half life decay of about 8 days, so the milk ban was not a permanent affair.The truly interesting point is that when pile number 2 was shut down & evaluated, it was discovered that the design would have caused a fire no matter what was done. Annealing only had the potential of delaying the inevitable disaster! The design itself was flawed. Neither pile was ever reactivated for use.The second point is political. The US had reneged on the "gentleman's" agreement between Roosevelt & Churchill to share nuclear research results. This agreement was made during the dark days of WW2 when Britain was under bombing threat & it was considered safest to move the research and scientists overseas to Canada & the US. After the war, Roosevelt was dead & Churchill was out of office. The US decided to restrict its dissemination of information to the British. The British basically built Windscale to catch up and join the club of nuclear nations.Windscale achieved two things for the British:1) The production of enough material for the British to create and test their own nuclear bombs.2) The accident woke up the US authorities to the fact that if they didn't act & assist the British quickly, more really bad things would happen as the British repeated the mistakes that the US had already made.The British were brought into the fold, so to speak. And, Windscale proved to be the physical and political reason for these successes.While you read this book have an internet connection available & do searches on: Windscale; Graphite Reactor Design; and Reactor Fire. Also, view the photos. There are quite a few available.PS. The Russians picked up the telephone & called the British as the graphite fire was raging at the Chernobyl Nuclear station for ideas on how to stop the fire.Disclaimer: This review is from the paperback version of the book as obtained through the inter-library loan program.

A haunting, marvellous, masterful narrative of artists under Stalin's Russia: By Sigrid Olsen There have been some excellent books out about the Stalinist Era and people and artists trying to survive...but Fear and the Muse includes a wider subject matter and is really a marvel of research and narrative. I found myself frequently looking up the names in this rich dense book, and was amazed to learn their stories...some are very tragic while others endure exile, near misses, or are protected only to be targeted in a second wave of persecution after World War II, when Stalin still remained at the helm. McSmith begins his story during the relatively benign early Communist Days when artists strove to be different and send a new message about the revolutionary world, but as Stalin gains power, things change. Against the backdrop of political purges, comes the artistic persecutions. Plays, poems and art all are questioned, while their authors are terrified into submission, silence, or murdered. McSmith includes the story of Vsevolod Meyerhold, the theater director, whose wife was brutally murdered, while he was sadistically tortured to death. At the same time, we learn about Prokofiev's homesickness for Russia and his return (which led to complications, but did produce the enchanting Peter and the Wolf.) It includes conversations that Pasternak had with Stalin about the "has been" Anna Akhmatova. Throughout all the changing attitudes toward art and the state McSmith weaves his narrative with the vivid skein of Russia's artists, suppressed, starved and scared, and still productive. This narrative makes one wonder at their persistence, and knowing that even the smallest incursion could mean years of forced labor. The author also includes information gleaned from post Communist archives. This is a wonderful book and very readable...it unfolds story after story, each fascinating, including all the major players-- Eisenstein, Gorky, Shostakovich-- with personal details that bring each character's motives into the context of what was happening in Russia. McSmith also quotes many poems, passages, and conversations that help us to learn what exactly was under attack. It also includes Stalin's own opinions on how art should be produced and monitored by the state. Though non-fiction, the succinct and well chosen details of this book made me feel as if I entered into another era.

Reading the first chapters were addicting.FREAk is different and mysterious... Chelsea is normal and just getting out of a boring relationship with a cheater. FREAk shows her a different side to sex.... making her crave his attention.I can't wait to read FREAk OUt and continue the story of Chelsea. I rate this 5 Stars... If I could give more stars, believe me when I say this, I definitely would.I recommend this book to all you FREAks looking for a unique and sexy read. Be aware, you will get addicted.

The very last scene had me laughing out loud. Freak is freaking adorable in his quirky way and Chelsea is a lucky girl to play with him in the broom closet. I think this is your best book yet. I cannot wait until it is released

By Chevoque Note: These are my personal opinions.The likes and dislikes:~I'm not a big fan of it when it feels like the character is talking to the reader, but this kind of worked out okay.~Holy hot hell! For the simplicity of the steamy scene, it was some serious 'fanning myself to cool down' stuff.Notes on characters:Chelsea - The setup for the next book was clear to have something to do with her inability to give an answer that makes sense, when it came to Mason, for example.Freak - Allow me the pun...freaked me out at some stages.Because I'm a little curious, I might read FREAk Out, but I am sceptical.
