About the Author Charlie LeSueur, who studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Drama Institute in Los Angeles, has appeared in popular television shows like the Salt Lake City children's show, Hotel Balderdash, which was a hit for over a decade, garnering a rating of over 60 percent of the entire Monday through Friday morning viewing audience ??? all ages. Other small screen appearances include Greatest Heroes of the Bible and Mark Twain's America. He also performed on the big screen in such films as The High Riders, Good-bye, Franklin High and The Lucifer Complex while in California. Along with wife Dawn and their seven children, LeSueur eventually moved back to his home state of Arizona, where he produced, directed and hosted such television programs as Chrome Highway, Dining Out in Arizona, The Arizona Cowboy and Hoover's Place. During this time, he released seven Top Ten country songs that made the charts across the globe, appeared in well over 100 television and radio commercials, and began the dual career he finds most satisfying: author and moderator of Question and Answer (Q&A) sessions at festivals around the world. Since 1992, LeSueur has served as Q&A's celebrity moderator at one of the world's largest Western Festivals, The National Festival of the West. In 2006, he also became the official Q&A moderator of the Wild West Festival in the Phoenix area. At the urging of celebrities and fans, LeSueur, who is recognized as a foremost authority on film ??? not just Western, but in all genres ??? authored two well received books on the subject of Western film and cowboy stars. His first book, The Legends Live On: Interviews with the Cowboy Stars of the Silver Screen, featured stories told by the celebrities themselves, as well as family members. Icons like Roy Rogers, Rex Allen, Buck "Gunsmoke" Taylor, popular character actor Dub Taylor, Harry Carey, Jr., Ben Johnson, Lash LaRue and many more are discussed in the book. LeSueur followed Legends with Riding the Hollywood Trail: Tales of the Silver Screen Cowboys, which utilizes interviews and expert research to paint an accurate, all-encompassing portrait of the "B" Western movie era. When not fulfilling his festival commitments, LeSueur works on his third book, which further explores his interviews with the cowboy heroes of both the silver screen and television.
