0 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Good Book with NO Recorded Music for Reference By Charles E. Woodall A sorta good book for Celtic music. Nice transcriptions. BUT no CD, online audio or music is available for this book. Requires someone moderate to advanced in reading the written scores, or at least knowledgeable on the tunes to play them correctly with feeling. It is fairly easy to read the scores, however it is real difficult to get the true feeling of these tunes without first having heard them or having a CD of recorded music for reference. Celtic like Irish music has slight nuances that cannot be expressed in a written score. You need your ear to hear the music. Besides most music books these days come with a CD or at least online audio to listen to. Very boring to sit with a dry score and try to play it without never having heard the tunes before. Hence I would not recommend this book unless you are an advance reader and have heard these tunes before. And yes, it would be great to see on AMAZON a Table of Contents and some strong words that say NO MUSIC INCLUDED WITHIN THIS BOOK to assist the buyer prior to purchase. The book needs a better detailed and updated description. When I emailed Mel Bay to find its music, I got a cold response saying only that the book does not include recorded music. Duh??? Why did they think I emailed them for music source? I found out AFTER purchase it had no music and I wanted to purchase the music. Bad Mel Bay customer service. Will not buy from them again unless it has recorded music clearly stated.

Good selection of tunes. I like the way it's divided into two sections: the first for just the 2 violins; the 2nd all 3 instruments together, so 2 of the musicans can share 1 book (I got 2 books). I'm re-learning how to play the piano and finding this pieces not too easy, not too hard.
