2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A delighful debut novel! By Natalie Buster Brian Hampton's debut novel is a magnificent, bawdy romp into the hypocritical world of the megachurch. Hampton creates an emotionally flawed yet loveable central character (Seth Hamilton) as the central narrator whose interractions with the members of this bizarre world provide at times humorous and at times poignant vignettes. No one is safe under the watchful eye of the church snitch, Seth Hamilton, not even himself. Along with Seth, we delve deeply into botched love triangles, sing hallelujah with overzealous worshippers, and cringe at the diatribes of homophobes who utter their hateful phrases "in God's name." A quick and delighful read, Church Snitch is a must for every beach bag, public transit commute, and book club. I'm looking forward to seeing what this author has in store next.

The characters were believable and so like people we all meet in our lives every day. Whether you work in a church, a factory or an office, you'll recognize these people. It is a great story of grace and redemption but never preachy. If your looking for a fast, fun read, get this. As I was reading, I was imagining the movie that I hope comes out of this.

Levine Fast-paced and fun, especially if you're at all involved with a religious organization. Hampton creates a number of fully-fleshed-out characters. I really couldn't put it down - finished it off in two days.
