From the Author I've been drawing these swirls and stars since forever, mostly to color on my own. I even did a full-sized swirls-and-stars mural in a Boston (Massachusetts) elevator, and in the reception area of a Salt Lake City (Utah) phone book company.When I realized people might like to see -- and color -- my drawings, I grabbed a few that were on my sketch pad, and I scanned them to create this book. It was planned as a "test drive" of this concept.Over several weeks and many refinements, the first "Pearls, Swirls, and Stars" book was completed. Then, I created a second version of it, for left-handed coloring enthusiasts, too. I'm working on more coloring books. They'll be from drawings I'm creating especially for coloring books for adults. I'm very excited about this project, and can't wait to see what readers do with these drawings.
About the Author Aisling D'Art is well-known for her mixed media and paper arts. She has taught art workshops at Art and Soul, Art Unraveled, Artfest, DragonCon, and Celebrate Art. Her how-to art website -- focusing on artists journals and personal, accessible art -- has been online since 1995. She loves sharing art techniques using everyday materials, and cherishes the childlike expression that art makes possible.
